Pick Fashion And Style Based On Your Body Type

Today We'll share a few solutions on choosing the right fashion and style and clothing details for your body type.

Hello everyone, We are The Trend Lover and want to provide some insight to help you to complete an image transformation and help you to choose the right outfits for your body type.

Oval Or Rectangle Body Shape

You may have rounded shoulders and fullness through the tummy area Your legs are often your best asset, you most likely are an oval or rectangle body shape.

Formal jackets can look great for this type of body as generally it has added shoulder pads which will make the narrow shoulder more defined and structured giving a more fuller appearance.

Choose accessories like a statement necklace to keep the eye above the bust-line avoid tucking in tops, or adding any waist details as it will draw attention to the waist, softer fabrics like that drape without clinging your body are sure to work well for this body type, think cashmere and georgette type fabrics. Off the shoulder dresses & tops with an empire waistline will give an illusion of wider shoulders and a small waist

Triangle Body Shape

So basically if your hips are larger and more prominent than your bust or shoulder area and you still maintain a well-defined waist, you have what is commonly referred to as a triangle body type or better know as the pear shape.

Be careful that the length of your tops and the type of jacket you may be wearing end on or just below the widest point of your hip area.

Use brighter or lighter colours for the upper half and keep trousers and skirts in darker colours.

Skinny Jeans and floral print top for the ladies

Details such as structured collars, embellishment or even decorating your neck and ears with jewellery will draw attention above the waist

We tend to say you must avoid more structured prints, if you use bright colours and details below the waist and layering on your top half, this will help create visual interest and draw attention to it.

Feel free to wear patterns and bold colours on your top half only this will make your thighs seem narrower

Inverted Triangle Body Shape

Your shoulders appear larger than your hip area. You often have little definition between your waist and your hips and your bottom may be fairly flat. Your silhouette is an inverted triangle. So the best way to show off this type of figure is too minimalist the styling and detail, especially above the waist area, more constructed shapes, will work best on your bottom halves like straight cut pants or an A-line skirt.

The use of more darker colours can help especially above the waist and then contrast that with a lighter bottom half and always avoid using shoulder pads, even in tailored jackets as it will make your shoulder look broader and will not help you achieve that great look.

Hour Glass Body Shape

If your shoulder area and hips are of the similar width, you have a waistline that is relatively smaller, you are the most common figure shape( sorry ladies) yes this is an hourglass body shape!

For this hourglass figure you must emphasise your waist area, wear clothing that naturally follows your body’s curves rather than hiding them, If you got the curves flaunt them, try to avoid stiff straight cut dresses, pencil skirts or in general, dresses that enhances your waist area will look great on you but a big no-no is keeping your hair too long, it must not fall around the bust area.

This type of hair literally adds pounds to your look and is likely to make you look too heavy especially in your upper body.

If you put on weight proportionately and generally all over equally you have a figure 8 body shape, especially if your shoulder area and your hips are of similar size and proportions.

The figure 8 is actually the most common body shape for all women, opt for skirts & dresses that fall smoothly over the hips and go straight down for pants try and go for wearing straight or skinny type trousers not wide or flared, definitely avoid heavy or very stiff and stay away from body-hugging fabrics like polyester and synthetic.

Avoid tucking in tops at all cost, as the focus straight away goes to the waist and tummy area opt for flowy and straight cut outfits colour blocking works great for the figure of 8, choose two to three starkly different colours like pink and orange or even black and white
